Norm Chidley Trophy

In 1981 Norm Chidley gifted the NJFC a trophy cup to be presented to the years ‘Most Sporting Player’. At some stage the trophy was designated to become the Presidents presentation for outstanding contribution to NJ

While there are many names listed here it’s important to remember that these names are just ‘the tip of the iceberg’ of all the people who have contributed to Northern Junior Football club helping make it such a long lasting and vibrant club.

Postscript; In researching the background to the trophy I was lucky enough to interview Norm and Margaret, while they were unaware the designation of the cup had changed they were glad to hear it was prospering well. In the early club history article you will see Margaret aided by Jean Lindsay spent many Saturdays in the club café providing parents and players with a hot cup of tea cake and soup raising funds. As there was no entry for 1985 (as with 1997 and 2005) we decided to dedicate this entry to Margaret for all of her stirling work.
